Building Latin America's Leading Tech-Enabled Delivery Platform

Liftit
Technology-Enabled Logistics / Latin America

The Sector and Company Context

Liftit is a tech-enabled middle and last-mile delivery marketplace serving enterprise customers across Latin America. The company's technology platform connects shippers with a network of independent carriers, optimizing delivery routes, pricing, and service quality through data-driven algorithms.

The Challenge

Liftit had built strong market position in Colombia and was expanding across Latin America but needed significant growth capital and operational guidance to scale efficiently. The company faced challenges common to high-growth marketplaces: balancing network expansion with unit economics, managing operations across multiple countries, and building enterprise-grade technology infrastructure.

Cambridge's Role and Approach

Cambridge Capital led a $21.5M Series B investment in Liftit and took an active role in driving operational transformation. Cambridge worked closely with the management team to optimize the business model, improve unit economics, and accelerate enterprise customer acquisition across the region. Cambridge also recruited an outside President and 3 independent board members, who focused the Company on improving truck density, which expanded gross profit margins by over 47%. Additionally, Cambridge assisted with centralizing sales and operations teams, focusing the company on increased wallet share with top customers in all markets, driving the focus towards profitable growth.

The Outcome

Under Cambridge's partnership, Liftit achieved transformational results: net revenue grew 4x, cash burn became strong cash profits, and with the accelerated growth over the last 2 years, Liftit is now a Top 10 transportation company in Colombia, poised for significant future growth.

The Broader Lesson

Combining growth capital with hands-on operational transformation can unlock massive value in emerging market logistics platforms. Cambridge's willingness to roll up its sleeves and drive operational change differentiates its approach from traditional financial investors.
